Why is postal code filtering still broken in Weebly/Square Online ?

Hello,

I’m reaching out because this issue has gone beyond frustration — it is now business-critical.

We use postal code filtering in Weebly/Square Online (Canadian site) to restrict orders to our delivery zone. The problem is simple but severe:

  • Postal codes are added to the delivery list (e.g. G9N 2N7)

  • Customers from those postal codes are still blocked at checkout (“address invalid”)

  • This makes the filtering unreliable and unusable

What happened

  • I first reported this last week and was told it was “fixed.” It wasn’t.

  • During further troubleshooting, a Square/Weebly support agent mistakenly erased our entire list of 2,000+ postal codes. I had to manually re-enter them, costing us two days of work.

  • Square acknowledged this was their error (they gave me a case #).

  • Despite all this, the same issue is happening again — some codes are rejected even when correctly entered.

Why this matters

  • Customers inside our delivery area cannot order.

  • This directly impacts sales and operations.

  • Support keeps transferring me between teams with no resolution.

What Square needs to do

  • Escalate this to engineering immediately.

  • Provide a real fix (not a workaround that risks deleting all codes again).

  • Offer a bulk import/export tool for postal codes — manually entering thousands of codes is not viable.

This is a critical flaw in Weebly/Square Online and I’m posting here because it urgently needs visibility.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue with postal code filtering?

Hi @Noentiendo,

I'm really sorry to hear this has been such a frustrating experience for you, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us.

From what I can see in our system, it looks like your most recent case with the Application Support Team was still active and had communication as recently as ~7 hours ago. Since you posted this yesterday, I just want to check whether you’ve seen the latest update from the team.

In the meantime, I’ll reach out to the engineers working on your case to get more context around the points you’ve raised here.

Thanks again for your patience while I look into this further.

Yes we got a reply, the system cannot handle more than 100 postal codes. This limitation should be added in the documentation and on the service presentation page, if not it mislead people and gives false expectations on what is possible.

We had to change it to a distance range.
