Why is my two tablets not syncing together

I would like to assist here but I am having trouble understanding. If you could please provide a bit more context to the question you're asking, I'll be able to better point you in the right direction here.
I have 2 Restaurant Square on iPads, that will occasionally not sync. Meaning, when I ring in an item on #1, the ticket will not update on pad #2. Or occasionally a pad won't print to the kitchen.
