Why doesn't Square acknowledge they are having processing issues?

Square support has told me twice "No - no issues with Square"

 

Haven't been able to process a CC in 3 days - went to Stripe on Sunday - sorry about loan repayments

 

This has looked the same for 3 days now - https://downdetector.com/status/square/

Hey @WindyCityParrot.  First, here is a link to Square’s official status page.  DownDetector is a private page where users report issues they are having.  Most companies like Square have their own official page and it is the only one that should be considered accurate, ever.

 

Secondly, I have been processing for the past three days with no problems.  And since there are not hundreds, if not thousands, of posts here from irate sellers I don’t believe there are any known issues.  Which leads me to the conclusion that there is a specific problem with your account.  To deal with that, you will have to contact Square Support and figure it out with them.  They can look into your account with you on the phone and create/escalate a trouble ticket if needed.

 

Lastly, if you really are concerned about continuing to make your loan payments (and that wasn’t just sarcasm), you can always sign into your dashboard and make a manual payment yourself.  That way you don’t fall behind while the issues with your account are being investigated.
