Why does my preview of my edited site not show when published?

Hi all,

I've been editing my website, adding items, changing the order of items in certain categories and when I click 'preview' it looks great.

However when I actually publish the site, none of these changes are showing on the live site? Does it need to run over night or something for the changes/edits to be shown?
