Why are buyers allowed to checkout online even after online checkout is disabled?

Every day since we reopened after Covid-19 quarantine,  we close at 2:00.  We accept online orders now, and have completely transitioned to be a curbside only coffeeshop.

The problem is that we cannot schedule the online website to stop accepting orders daily at 2:00, even though our business hours in the Square and Weebly systems are 7am-2pm.  So every morning and afternoon, we go into settings and toggle online ordering on and off.  I would be totally fine with doing this every day, except that it only works sometimes.  Every day, the system allows some people to order, even hours after we've turned off online ordering.  And then every day, I need to check it and cancel and refund orders, which is frustrating for me, but more frustrating for the people arriving at the shop hours after we close to pick up an order that was never processed.  I absolutely cannot keep doing this, please help!

Hi @Crackskulls! I don't blame you for feeling frustrated by this. I wouldn't want to refund customers after hours either.

It sounds like you may have "Scheduled Pickup" turned on, which allows customers to order outside of your business hours. They wouldn't be able to pick up the order until your business hours started, so in theory they shouldn't be showing up outside of your business hours, but make sure you have that turned off as well.

I've turned off online ordering on my dashboard from my home laptop, and have also disabled it on our shop ipad.  I also took your suggestion and turned off scheduled pickup, which is actually helpful for customers to place orders in advance when they're planning their day. None of this has worked.  Already today, when the shop is CLOSED for maintenance, we've rec'd five orders, which always ends in an angry and disappointed customer.  Finally, I had to UNPUBLISH my website.  I have no other choice...this is ridiculous.
