What do I do for transaction hold

Guys I messed up. I run a small business window cleaning and I have a very supportive grandmother who is paying me to do her windows and she is also paying for new waterfed pole equipment to get the third story done as well. I messed up and didn't detail the invoice enough and just wrote Window Cleaning and charged her. I should've listed somewhere in there thst part of it was for the equipment cost as well. Now the funds are placed on hold. I'm really scared now after hearing horror stories of holds lasting months to years and now I don't have the funds required to get the equipment and do the job. Idk what to do man. I'm a small business and now I might lose my account. If they would just call her she would explain that its not fraudulent. Please help.

HI @WindowBoss

First off, Welcome to the Square Community.  I'm guessing that you are new user, or this may be one of your first transactions?  The description you used or even lack of description shouldn't have been any reason why your funds were placed on hold.  I can't look at your account since this is public forum and I'm simply a seller like yourself, but in your dashboard you should have a notification if Square needs any further information from you.

You can also reach out to customer support during business hours and see what is going on with the hold, or if they need any further information.

I have already given proof of ID, and everything. Screenshots of our messages even. Proof that the customer indeed intend to purchase. This is probably my eighth transaction. I have a recurring restaurant cleaning client as well as a couple homes that have been cleaned now. I'm not a scammer or anything. I guess I'm overthinking right now but I have just read horror stories of square holding funds for months and it freaked me out. I'm completely willing to give any and all proof that this is a legitimate transaction. I'm just nervous and wondering what my next steps should be. I now have received an email saying my account has been verified but the funds are still being reviewed and to wait 2 business days. Anything else I should do or give information wise?

That's good news @WindowBoss   Honestly my advice is to just take a deep breathe.  Good thing is the funds have been verified etc.  So I would just allow the 2 business days to let Square do their thing.  It sounds like you are in a good position though.  Being relatively new to Square things like this will happen.

On the horror stories that you have read,  It's almost like searching for a common cold on WebMD according to them and the internet posts you should be hospitalized for a simple cough.  Take certain things that you read on here with a grain of salt.  While some may be true, others very well could be Scammers or at the very least not giving the entire truth, because who would want to admit to fraudulent activity!?

Just give it the couple days, and Square will reach back out if they need any more information!  Keep us posted here as well.

Okay thank you for your consolation. I appreciate it. I'll give it the time and let it be. If anything else happens then I'll start reaching out. Do you know if anyone from square reads these? Or is this just for community conversation?

No worries!  Yeah there are team members that work for Square that will read some of these if needed, but the  actual customer support team I do not believe linger on here
