Website items show as 'out of stock,' even though marked as 'visible.' Help...

We have not published the website yet, just putting it together. The items are synced in the item library and site items...and all marked as 'visible'...and stock numbers have been entered for each item...but still showing as 'out of stock'....anyone know what's wrong?
