Two locations with a single inventory

I have a brick and mortar pottery shop where I sell mostly pottery. I also sell hand crafted greeting cards at the store and created an online presence for the cards. The online presence is considered a separate location. In Square I have the Pottery location and the Cards location. All the cards inventory is kept at the B&M pottery shop and sold there as well.

How to I set up tracking so that if a card sells online (the cards location) it will deduct it from the overall inventory? It should do the same if a card sells at the B&M it will also deduct it from the total inventory?

When I click on inventory tracking for each location it doubles the inventory as if this was two separate physical locations.

Hi there, @BRPottery,

Thanks for reaching out, and what a great setup! Your shop sounds wonderful, and it’s great to hear you’ve expanded your greeting cards to an online audience. You're correct that when you set up separate locations in Square, each one is treated as a distinct inventory source. So if you have the same item listed at both the Pottery and Cards locations, Square assumes each location holds its own inventory leading to the inventory being counted twice unless manually adjusted.

Also, welcome to the Square Community! I noticed that this is your first post with us, so we wanted to acknowledge that!
