We use Square to manage a Bike Repair Shop. We use tickets from initial diagnosis in the shop through to job completion in the workshop. Tickets get updated as a job progresses.
If it's a new customer then we use an automated tool "Z" to add the customers details in a gmail account.
Once a bike is repaired we save the ticket, pick up a mobile phone and SMS customer to come and collect. When customer comes in store, they pay the ticket, this updates the customer record of work done etc. so we have a job history.
Is there any way that we could put something in the final saved ticket that could be picked up by something like Zapier to automate the messaging part. Zapier can pick up a completed transaction, but that is too late for what I want.
How to inform a customer "your pizza is ready come and pay" ? Payment comes at the end of our process!
Hey @aboutbike, thanks for your post. This is a great question.
Are you taking these orders in person or online? If you are taking them in person and using open tickets, there isn't a way to automatically send out notifications to your customers once the order is done. I can see why this would be a useful feature to have, though. I'll make sure to pass your idea over to our product team.
If you are taking orders online, you can mark an order as ready before making it as complete, which will notify the customer that their order is prepared and ready for pickup or delivery. See the screenshot below.
Hope this helps!
