Suspicious activity on dashboard

I’ve learned that the secret to any edits made on my dashboard is the publish button. That’s only a given or expected if I know I’ve made the edits regardless of device. Last year, I noticed activity that started to adjust my inventory sync (on Sales I was hosting) with a 3rd party service automatically but everything was synced corrected until it happen again a few times this year. For example: I would audit my inventory in Inventora (the 3rd party) & it would automatically sync to Square. But when I physically logged into Square, the sync reads well, but to only change automatically within a 5 minutes - 30 minutes window later. Or a customer would message me about an error. Of course, when I would fix the issue—things would be fine. Until, another random edit (in a similar capacity) would show up. The only difference I noticed was when I would log off. The prompt reads “Sign out everywhere—5 locations”. I only have two devices: iPad, iPhone & no vendor location. Where would the other 3 location come from? I remove staff that had access to the dashboard. Now, I need to put my iPad on airplane mode. I’ve reported this issue to Square & the only response I’d get is to change my password. I’ve changed my pasword 2-3 times in a month. Please help me make sense of this.

Hi there, @EmberLady,

Thank you for explaining everything so thoroughly, I can absolutely understand why this would feel concerning, especially when inventory appears correct and then changes shortly after, and when you’re seeing multiple active sessions despite only using two devices. That would raise red flags for anyone. A few things may be contributing here. If you’re using a third-party integration like Inventora, inventory adjustments can continue syncing in the background even after you log into Square, depending on how frequently the integration pushes updates. This can sometimes make it appear as though changes are happening “on their own” within that 5–30 minute window. The “Sign out everywhere — 5 locations” message typically reflects active sessions, not necessarily physical devices. I’m happy to help walk through that with you so we can pinpoint what’s happening and give you peace of mind.
