Subscription: Replace Custom Domain

I have been trying to downgrade my account to the free plan for a week so I wouldn't be charged again for the Square plus plan. I keep receiving the message that says to replace my custom domain and I have unsubscribed from it but still receive the same message. I reached out to support but all they told me was to go to pricing and subscriptions to switch to a free plan which was not helpful at all. How can I remedy this issue so that I can stop being charged for this plan?

Based on the message you're receiving about needing to "replace your custom domain," it sounds like your site is still linked to a paid domain, even though you’ve unsubscribed. In many cases, this requires that a custom domain be removed or replaced with a free Square subdomain (like yourbusiness.square.site) before you can fully downgrade to the free plan. If you've already done this, please send me a private message and we can investigate further.

Hi Ellie,

 

Thank you for the warm welcome to the Square Community. I have not replaced it with a free domain as I have not seen the option available to do so in my site settings. Could you shed some insight as to how I can replace the custom domain with the free square domain?
