Square Online variations are limiting in configuration

I manage a library of 500+ variations across 4 physical locations. I've begun deploying Square Online sites and am running into some limitations that have been discussed here many times.

The ability to display only a subset of a product's variations is essential.

(Much like hidden & visible product states, variations need this, too. Variations may be something I keep in stock for brick-and-mortar, but don't want listed on a particular online store.)

The ability to create separate listing items for product variations is needed as well.

(Tee shirts of different colors and sizes should be one product in the library, but should have the option to be displayed by each color in list views online.)

Is there any roadmap for these features?

@tcdent I have run into this sort of limitation.  Square pretty much treats each variation as an item, where the actual item is the global item.  Modifiers apply to all variations equally, etc.  I know a feature request has to been to have variation specific or conditional modifiers.  As far as online stores go, variations are limited also by the item as visible, hidden, or unavailable.  You can be more specific and have custom modifier sets per location and per item and limit the modifier visibility.  You could have an item with a base price and variations and if the price needs to be different include it in the modifier section.

If inventory is a key part of this, I would recommend breaking your items out and not use variations and use a more specific naming process.  For me it is BLT - OUC or BLT - TRV or BLT-CCC to designate different stores.  Some improvements have come along to where that isn't needed as much, but I like the simplicity of it.

You can control variations via inventory functions for salability, but not limit the visibility.
