Square Online: How do I expand my selling market to include Canada, Europe, and the Netherlands ?

[The title of this thread has been edited from the original: how to set up to sell outside USA]

I have set up a new e-store through weebly/square.  I have sold a few things successfully in the USA.  How do I expand my selling market to include Canada, Europe, and the Netherlands ?

Hey @JOURNALSBYADA!

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.

With Square Online, you can accept international payments from international customers within Canada, Europe, and the Netherlands, among other locations. We suggest taking a look at these additional precautions on these types of orders to help prevent fraud and disputes.

To keep in mind as you advertise and grow your business internationally:

  • If you experience issues processing an internationally-issued card, have the cardholder contact their issuer.
  • Cardholders may be charged for currency conversion by their card issuer since payments must be processed in your country’s official currency.
  • You must be located in the country where you activated your Square account to process payments. Meaning while you're accepting the international payments on your site, you must be located in the country that you created your account.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if I misunderstood your question, or if you have any additional questions.

I received an email through my website from a person from Switzerland.  This person is interested in purchasing an item from my site.  Can square process an international credit card?  Can I send an invoice internationally?

Hi! Great question. Also, welcome to the Seller Community! I've merged your post to an existing thread where @JOURNALSBYADA asks a similar question. This should also help get you on the right track for international payments. Thank you again. 🙂
