The backend is very sluggish on both square online and square retail.
Tonight I’ve been working all night due to the innefficiency of the platform recently. I’m finding more and more bugs and quite frankly I don’t have the time to video record every time I find an issue. There are too many to take note of but I’ll outline the main ones I’ve found so far.
1. square online - photos take too long to upload (Over 1min - see video below) the website builder is auto saving every word you type, it’s not efficient and frustrating to deal with.
2. Online item visibility user experience is horrendous. They should be available by default! When I have to add 100 items into the inventory through the spreadsheet, I have to manually toggle the switch to “on” so it can activate the ability to control the visibility drop down menu for the item to be visible on square online. The process makes no sense and again not well thought out. It’s redundant if anything.
3. downloading the excel spreadsheet in square dashboard item management takes over 2min to download a 800k file.
4. the new marketing app we are being billed for barely works and is unstable. It fails to auto save periodically which leads to app failing by not scheduling or sending out the campaign, instead I get a message saying something went wrong.
it seems like weekly there is always something wrong with the platform. If it’s not this issue, it’s another. With every update more and more features are breaking and the quality control seems subpar at this point. Fixing one issue or implementing new products seems to be making things worse.
To keep customers happy, it might be a good idea to focus on fixing the current issues with the platform regarding performance and functionality before implementing more apps that don’t work properly.
