Hi I'm trying to set up a online store for my gaming store. I'm having problems figuring out how to go about doing the shipping cost as I don't have the real time rates yet i want to wait on that till the site is making the money to cover that. I have items of all sizes and shapes and weights so I'm not sure how to go about doing it.
HI, you can add the cost of shipping into the price (free shipping). Increase the price on the items that can bear a price increase to offset.
we have been playing with this idea but we have things that are like $30+ to ship and things as cheep as $4 to ship so where would we do that to
HI, add the shipping fee into the price.
For example, Wayfair, they ship furniture, appliances etc with "free shipping", the fee is already included in the price.
Hello Darkprimegaming,
Try to keep things as simple as possible for yourself. As some others have suggested and we do this too - include the shipping costs in the price of your item. As a small business, you'll never compete with Amazon so don't even worry about that. What works for us may not work for others however, this is something you need to figure out through a bit of research and testing. For example, we only use one shipping service - USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate - doing this gives us a better idea on costs and we don't have to worry about buying boxes as they are free. We do have some additional expenses like shipping labels, tape, bubble wrap and our time to package and take to the PO but, this all works out. From the buyer's point of view, you're not charging any shipping fees at checkout.
