Shipping by the ounce help

Hi! Thank you for any insight you can give. I’ve had my website up for about a month but I sell I’m ounce qts. So a customers total package may only weigh 8 oz. when opening my site it said when putting it item weight that they only accepted pounds. So now I had to change to a flat rate fee of 8.00 and it’s turning away customers when there shipping is really 4.50

This is different than creating an actual shipping label and I can adjust the ounce there

Thank you

Could you put the weight in as a decimal?  Knowing that one pound is 16 ounces, if your product is only 8 ounces, could you enter the weight as 0.5 pounds?

I was just looking at that myself, while evaluating the product and setting up a new site. I will run into the same issue. It doesn’t seem to allow decimals in the field for shipping weight from what I can tell so far.

I put weight in decimal form and it works just fine. Many of my items weigh 4 ounces, so I put in .25 (quarter of a pound) and shipping charges correctly.

I think what might be happening here is the difference between working on desktop vs iOS. When I originally posted I had tried it while editing that field from my iPhone. Last night I tried it from my desktop and it also worked for me.
