Shipping Costs (Question)

Hello all! I am new to the Square Family! How do I adjust shipping if a customer orders items over a certain dollar limit? For instance I had a customer over $200 worth of product and the shipping was still set for $3 (USPS Media Mail). How can I correct this so that I want take a loss on this next time? Thanks in advance.

Hi @ButterflyWishes,

Thanks for writing in and welcome to the Square Seller Community 👋

While shipping rates can't be based on order amounts, weight based shipping would be a great option here. Like this, you can set shipping prices based on weight and also set up a fallback shipping rate.

To get started with weight based shipping:

1. Go to your Square Online Dashboard  > Fulfilment > Shipping

2. Click on edit under Destination Regions & Rates and select Add another rate.

3. Choose Order Weight and add the shipping rate and weight. Also add a fallback rate for orders falling outside of the rules you've created.

Next, you'll want to add weights to your items by going to Items > Site Items. Click into the item you'd like to edit, and you'll be able to add the item's weight under Fulfilment.

Please let us know how you go!
