Selling multiple ticket types in one transaction

Hi, I read through many posts but they were a few years old and I'm hoping maybe there is now a resolution to this issue. We would like to be able to sell general admission tickets via Square online but it only allows one ticket type to be purchased per transaction and won't show available stock for other ticket types. Has anyone had luck selling tickets via Square or are you generally bringing in a 3rd party app to work with Square? Thank you for any help or advice!

Hey! Totally get where you’re coming from — this has been a common ask, and as of now, Square Online still doesn’t support purchasing multiple ticket types (like GA + VIP) in a single transaction with real-time stock tracking for each.

one workaround is to create each ticket type as a separate item with limited stock, but the system still treats them as separate transactions — not ideal for a smoother customer experience.

Most people in your shoes end up using a third-party ticketing platform like Eventbrite, TicketSpice, or Acuity and integrating it with Square for payments. These platforms are built for ticketing and can handle multiple ticket types, quantities, time slots, and better customer tracking.

Hello @wmurphyGM, thank you for reaching out here on the Square Community!

I appreciate this helpful information, @Stacelyn24! This is correct. Unfortunately at this, this function is not available. I was able to find a post from one of our Square Sellers here on the Square Community, that might offer this helpful workaround in the meantime.

I also might suggest adding your suggestions to our Ideate platform as a Feature Request. With Ideate, you can add new ideas, improvements, and suggestions to Square products. Our product managers review these threads and may implement these ideas into future Square projects.

I hope this helps a bit! Please let us know if you end up having any other questions in the meantime.
