Hi all — I’m setting up a Square Online store for my laser engraving business and I’m trying to figure out the best workflow for collecting custom order details from customers.
For certain products, I need to allow customers to:
• ✅ Enter custom text (e.g., a name or phrase)
• ✅ Upload an image for engraving (e.g., logo or sketch)
• ✅ Select a font or engraving style from a list
If Square Online can’t handle all of this directly, I’d love to know:
• Is there a custom form workaround or add-on app you’d recommend?
• Can I at least automate an email or message that asks for these details after checkout?
Appreciate any ideas or setups that have worked for you!

You could create modifiers, for any applicable items, to accomplish this. Below, are the settings you can choose from. You can add multiple types of modifiers to a single item too. You can set this up from your Dashboard here.

Additionally, you can create a pop-up on your website, to provide visible instructions for your customers on how to order these custom items.
Lastly, I'm not aware of a way for customers to upload an image for an online order 🤔 but I can certainly confirm this with the Square Online Support Team. I'll let you know what I find out about that piece!
