Quantity based discounts for Square Online?

Hi -

I own a wine bar/shop.  We can provide customers with a 10% discount if they purchase 6+ bottles of wine at retail.  Is there a way to provide the 10% off of just the wine bottles automatically if this meets this criteria OR can I create a promo code where the customer can enter it manually.  Enter promo code and 10% would be deducted if it meets this criteria.

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community. At this time, for Square Online we have only a few options for the types of coupons you can create:

1. Percentage Discount: Discounts the purchase price based on the percentage you enter.
2. Dollar Amount Discount: Discounts the purchase price based on the amount you enter.
3. Free Shipping: Removes shipping fees from an order. You’ll need to create shipping rates before setting up this type of coupon.

After selecting one of those types, you'll be able to get a bit more specific:

1. All orders: The coupon is valid for all orders, as long as they meet any date restrictions you’ve set up.
2. Orders over a certain amount: The coupon will only be valid if the order is over a specific dollar amount. Enter that amount in the field below. The amount is inclusive - that is, if the coupon is valid on orders over $10, and the order amount is $10, the coupon will be valid.
3. Specific categories: The coupon applies to items that are included in the category you choose. Click the link to select one or more categories for this coupon.
4. Specific items: The coupon applies only to the items you select here. Click the link to pick one or more items you want to include.

To create a coupon, go to Items > Coupons from your Square Online Overview page and click Add Coupon. Depending on your account, you may need to go to Settings > Coupons instead.

Unfortunately, the current Coupon options will not resolve my specific scenario.  

After selecting “Percentage Discount” I would need an option for “Item Over a Certain Quantity” -> Select “Items” (in my case WINE) -> Select numerical value that must be met to qualify for a coupon (6 for example).  

So, if a customer buys 6 or more wine bottles they will be able to use a Coupon for x% off the wines being purchased.

Maybe a feature request?

Ahhhh, yes. While we do have in-store discounts that can be 'quantity based' - we do not have this functionality for our Square Online coupons. We're working on integrating the two together. I'll definitely update this thread when I hear something @c59w.

Hi, I own bakeries and we do a % discount if a dozen cupcakes are purchased.  This dozen discount has been in place for over a decade.  A quantity discount feature would fit our needs perfectly for online sales!  Please make it happen 🙂

you can do this by creating a Variation with an item and have like so:

1 for $xx

2 for $zz

my business will also benefit from a discount option that allows a "Percentage discount" on "orders over a certain number of items" purchased.
