QR Code Self-Serve Checkout .... Works without a Web Site?

I need to make a QR Codes, for my labels on individual pieces of art work. Do I have to have a web site for the Self-Serve Checkout to work?

Also, can I create only one QR Code for all the art, and a buyer would go to a list, of my art work and click on the particular piece of art they would like to purchase?

Hi @MosaicArtist.  To your first question, yes that works.  As long as there are no modifier sets attached to your items (ie - they only have variations, if applicable), you can create checkout links with optional QR codes for customers to purchase items.

To your second question, no you can not do this.  This would be too complicated, I think, for the quick functionality that is provided by checkout links.  If you want, you can head over to the Ideate Board and submit a feature request to the Online team.  I wouldn’t hold my breath on this one, though.  After all, what you are asking for is the very purpose of web sites — to showcase our businesses and the items we sell.  But, I guess it would be worth a try.

One other limitation to keep in mind about online checkout links.  They are “one item per cart” types of transactions.  Customers can not use them to purchase, say, multiple pieces of art at one time.  Each item would be a separate transaction.  Again, this is a function of the simplicity of the feature — to provide quick online checkout without the need for a website.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
