Purchase Regular Items and Subscription Items at the same time

What can I do to make it where customers can add regular items and subscription items to their cart? It's doing it as separate orders.

Great question! At this time, you would have to set up the customer's subscription and purchase of regular items, separately. 

This would be a great Feature Request for our Product Team, so I would encourage you to share your voice on our Ideate Board. There is even a specific board for feature requests for Subscriptions.
