If a customer adds items to their cart on Sunday at 5:30pm, delivery is shown as available, and they proceed with their order... which then schedules their delivery for the upcoming Friday as the next available delivery slot.
One way to prevent this: indicate when the store is closed throughout the order, based on the entered hours.
We have had to cancel and refund numerous orders because they're for the wrong day because the customer didn't notice the delivery date.
Square support indicated the following, which helps considerably:
Enabling the option "Orders are delivered at specific times (e.g. 12:30 pm)" results in the delivery time showing on the ordering page and cart (exactly like it does for pickup).
This leaves us with just this request: "Another option that would be SUPER helpful for this: indicate when the store is closed throughout the order (based on the entered hours)."
This is bothering me right now...their suggestion is to turn off online ordering when you're closed...
They need to consider Restaurants are different than retail and address this. People generally aren't thinking "what should I order for lunch tomorrow" they just don't see the little message.
They also charge you for these online/cancelled transactions and told me they won't reimburse as it's working as designed...dumb
