Poor Customer facing UI - Item not available at 1 location, doesnt suggest alt location - errors out

I had a customer tell me today, "I was looking forward to shopping your new raw food assortment at your new location. I had to come in because your website kept giving me an error. I spent 2 hours researching her possible bug trying to track it down. Finally realized that if you are at a location where an item is unavailable instead of suggesting you switch your cart to a new location it errors out. 

This is an unacceptable result, I want to offer delivery out of both locations, and I want the system to push the user to the store that has the items they are looking for. This error our is costing me business, and forces me to either limit options for a smaller location or cause confusion to my customers. Neither is great, All I am suggesting here is the system get an error check here and offer the customer to switch locations.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I understand how frustrating this situation must be for both you and your customers, and I appreciate your feedback.

 

Your suggestion to prompt users to switch to a location where items are available is a great idea and would indeed improve the shopping experience. Unfortunately, this feature isn't currently available.

 

As a workaround, you might consider noting in the item descriptions that buyers should check other locations for availability.

 

I also encourage you to submit this feature request in our Ideate Room , so our product teams can review your suggestion.
