Hello all!
I mainly do conventions and pop-up markets but recently have had a lot of customers ask about in-person pickup during the event so they can order online in advance but not have to pay shipping. I can offer a coupon code of course but I feel that runs the risk of having someone use it on an order that requires shipping and then doing a charge-back when if I don't send the item.
Is there anyway to make a pick-up option that is linked to an event calendar? Or have a box available so customers can write in at which event they would like to pick up their order?

I'm not aware of an option to sync to an events calendar.
A manual method could be . . .First, I'd recommend looking into setting up Pickup as a Fulfillment Method (Settings --> Account & Settings --> Fulfillment Methods --> Online Pickup & Delivery). There you could regularly update your settings for days/hours that pickup is available so that customers can only choose the days you are at an event. It will take some manual work to keep up the details on your end, but at least customers can see what's available a week in advance. And you'd have to manually communicate where the events are! I'd recommend updating your pickup instructions so that they explain how your pickups work and then creating an events calendar so people know where to find you.

That is a great question, and we see how valuable that would be to your business. Unfortunately, @JoeTend is correct, there is currently not a way to do what you are looking for. However, they offered a great solution for a workaround! If you have any other questions, please let us know!
I totally understand what you’re trying to do. A workaround that you can try is adding a “Pick Up” option which is under "fulfilment"
When you have events scheduled, you can:
Enable the Pick Up option
Use restricted days to eliminate all non-event dates
That way, when customers order online and choose the pick up option, the only dates available to select are your event days, so it’s very clear when and where they’ll be picking up
This approach avoids needing a coupon code, which — like you mentioned — can get messy if someone applies it to a shipping order and causes issues later.
It’s not a perfect event-calendar integration, but it does guide customers cleanly to the correct option and prevents shipping confusion. Hope that makes sense!
