Photos out of order for variations

I have a few products with variations. When I go to the online store and click on one of the variations, then scroll through the photos (left or right), I get a mix up of variations instead of just the one I want to look at.

 

Example: Select the blue blanket, then scroll left or right through the photos and you see the main blue photo, then one of the green striped blanket, then another blanket, etc.

 

If I'm shopping online, all I want to see are photos of the variation I've selected, not random photos of other variations.

 

Is there a way to fix this? If not, this is a deal-breaker for me and Square.

 

I'm using the free site, BTW.

Hi @GlobalHumanity 

For my website I actually put my photos in the order I want the customer to be able to see them.... So, once I load my pics, I would put all the blue blanket pics together and so on.  I know other boutique owners who add each variant as a different item, so the customer only sees that color when the click it. Hope this helps.  You could also do a feature request, this may be a great tool for other business owners as well.

Okay, I just checked something.

 

The hand bags work just fine. You scroll through the photos and the variation changes and everything is in order. Or you select a variation and the photo flips to those photos.

I've done everything the same way for two years. How can it be this inconsistent? And how do I get help with this?

So sorry this is still a problem you're experiencing.  I clicked on the links you provided, and I definitely see what you're talking Another thing I would check is what picture you assigned to that specific item when you input your info.  I think when you click the variation that pic is what it defaults to, then put the rest of the same color pics under that.  Other than that online support may have to help you get it right. Please keep me posted.

Hi, Jackie. What you described in terms of inputting each photo and the order, etc., under each variation is exactly how I input everything. So it doesn't make sense why a few items would come out okay and a few won't. It's extremely frustrating but I don't have the time to change platforms right now for the store. My only fix, that I can see right now, is to list each blanket, for example, as a separate item -- which will take forever given how slowly Square can process stuff. In the end, this is a really, really buggy system and I will have to start paying for a more professional platform.
