Online store customers unable to check out because "items are not available"

Despite all of the items in question being available for purchase on my square online store, and clients are able to put them in their cart - A number of my clients get an error message that "some of the items in your cart are unavailable. Remove these items and try again". Other clients are able to check out and pay with the same items. These clients have tried with incognito windows and are still unable to check out. I have tried switching the items in question to counted/tracked inventory items and "available/unavailable". A couple of months back I approached the square team and they were not able to recreate or address the issue - so I just invoiced these clients instead - but now i'm putting another order callout with clients and the issue is persisting with about half of my clients. Really hoping someone else has navigated this and found a solve!
