Online checkout customer address not registering the State chosen in the dropdown menu

After address info is manually entered and the “Update address” button is clicked, the info in the “State” dropdown box disappears and of course clicking “Place order” does nothing. There is no error message or any warning at all stating that there is info missing. The user is not aware of this and they give up in frustration. If the information is entered and the “Update address" button is not clicked the transaction goes through properly.

I want to make sure I'm understanding here. If the customer is unable to find a suggested address, they would manually input their street information, but they are not then manually entering the city, state, and zip? Or do they manually enter all the address details, and then the state field disappears before hitting checkout? 

 

Can you also please post a link to your website so we can see the checkout page in action?
