Offering a coupon with a sale

Hi I have put many items on sale in my shop. I also have coupons people can use. 

I want to offer a coupon they can use on these sale items as well as an extra discount. 

I've run into a HUGE PROBLEM I need help with!

In testing it, If I add even ONE sale item to my cart, I cannot even use a coupon on a REGULAR PRICED item! How am I either doing this wrong, or why is this restriction in Square Online?

Is it possible to use coupons on sale items? How do I set that up?

AND what am I doing wrong so that coupons can't even be used on regular priced items if a sale items is also in the cart?

Since I have sooo many items on sale, my coupons for regular priced items are pretty much useless if this is how you have things running!

Please help.

Looking to learn more about this experience to see if there are any solutions here. Is this sale we mention an automatic discount added at checkout? If so, then these also count as coupons on Square Online, and for that reason, another coupon cannot be applied. This is a Square Online limitation of not being able to stack or combine coupons/discounts.
