I'm trying to set up my first ever website, but the setup guide still says I need to set up my shipping. I've gone through what feels like every page and filled out as much as I could, but it's still marked as incomplete. I've also tried turning on 'Accepting Orders' but still nothing. Am I missing something hidden?
Hi @greystonefarm what sort of items are you selling. I haven't set up shipping for our business and we won't be using it at all. I just ignored it.
Have you actually designed your site yet? If not you will need to go through the process of choosing a template and setting up your site. You can find videos and training on this online (Youtube or Square Support).
If you have setup your webiste you can do the following. If you go to your square dashboard and then click online, then online store, it should have your name and on the right you should see "Edit site" & "Accepting orders". Mine shows accepting orders because its online and running. You may have to click on whatever is showing next to edit site to get your site showing. Let me know if you need more help with this.
Hey, did you ever get an answer for this? I'm having the exact same issue and it's maddening! I've created shipping profiles and done everything I'm meant to, but it still won't assign the profiles to my items
I'm having this same issue as well! Since it's been a couple months, do you happen to know or remember your solution? Crossing my fingers you found one anyways.
I think this is a red herring; I ran into the same thing, but was able to successfully place orders on my site even when it said I was "1 step away" and needed to setup shipping.
HOWEVER, if you're like me and it will help alleviate your concerns by making that message go away, I think I figured out how to fix it: seems like a weird bug on Square's end, but there appear to be 2 different versions of the "Shipment settings" page:
Weirdly, the 'Accepting orders' badge still shows as gray - when one would think it's supposed to be green - but again, my site is in fact successfully accepting orders anyways.
One of several bugs I've run into in the platform, but hopefully this workaround helps folks!
