My store is not being indexed after 5 months?, I did everything they said to do for SEO, I used Google search Console, I even bought the domain name thru the Store app and listed my products, submitted a sitemap everything they said to do and i used a search engine simulator that simulates google and no wonder!!! no words found?? only thing was the name, the title, description, this is a free account but i figured i would try it before investing in it and i see there are other complaints the same as mine but no answers.. I can look up a very unique product i sell as no one else does and nothing, only it is listed on another website selling platform i do business with, just crazy.. I need some help figuring this out as it is square weekly, and I was told to post here at Square... as far as I am concert this means weekly is screwed up for sure... ideas? instead of the same old same old I need some really square weekly people kind of help..

HI, SEO does take time, yes, you stated 5 months, if you search your items with the .square.site all the items will probably be indexed. Have you cleared the cache? Have you tried on a different browser?
Here are the breadcrumbs and screenshot to apply description under title.
Online Dashboard, Website, Edit Site, top click Page: Home, scroll down and click any item, click Item Details, click Description, check mark Show the item description above the Buy button.
HI, to understand you are on the free plan and no search results or invalid or incomplete results are found.
I just used the Title listed above and I do see your website.
FYI, you can change the description to display underneath the title instead of at the bottom. Let me know if you want the steps to change.
Yes I would love the steps, it's easy to find the site, but none of the items in the store can be found at all, and a few are very unique..
I cannot find a Masterbuilt 560 Shelf for instance, even though no one else sells them but me, and i only see it on another seller platform that i use, and that item has been up for 5 months or more! on my Square site, and it is not indexed at all..

HI, instructions are added here to see them again,
Online Dashboard,
Website,
Edit Site,
top click Page: Home,
scroll down and click any item,
click Item Details,
click Description,
check mark Show the item description above the Buy button,
Save
Does this affect all items or do i have to do this to every single item I have...thanks
Thanks Terri,
I was able to find this this on the Desktop Version of the store so many thanks, I sure hope this helps Google index my store allot better...I have allot of items and when I do a site:michaelswooddesigns.com only 1 page and a little of a second page of things show up, which is not good, and it seems only the Categories get indexed? do you know anything about that?
HI, no, I am not familiar with SEO. It can be frustrating.
You have a beautiful website. Some ideas came to mind, you have very specific items which only a customer searching for wood items would see. Personalization (Personalized Gifts) is very big, especially at holiday season. Somewhere on each item could state Any Name or Any Surname available. You could add Stories explaining how each is created. You could add a Customer Testimonial section too.
Hey Terri,
Thanks for sharing this. I run a bookstore so my Item Descriptions are fairly long! Putting all of that above the Buy button may not be in my best interest because it means customers have to scroll to get to the Buy button. That said, is putting the description above the buy button better for indexing and SEO? Does the buy button coming first make the web blind to the description below it? Just trying to understand why this is being suggested so I'm not blindly following along 🙂 Thanks so much for your help!
Terri, I did as you instructed and I'm already finding my items listed in Google Search results! Now, my Search Engine Simulator are no better (still all empty), but this is progress!
Following this thread. I'm in the same boat and haven't been able to figure out why. I've been at this for over a year.
Yes, this is a pain i have had my store up for months and I would pay even money for it if i seen at least my items show up in a site check...
Is you sitemap ok? You can point Google to the correct sitemap XML file by adding "/sitemap.xml" to the end of your homepage, and be sure to submit that to Google Search Console. The way the website is constructed is hard for the search crawler to index without an accurate sitemap, I think. Free online site map generators don't work for these sites, usually, because the source code for a Square Online/Weebly site includes a lot of functions and don't list the URLs to the rest of your website explicitly.
