Load "physical" gift cards online without selling eGift cards

Is there a way to setup loading physical gift cards (like scanning the QR code on the back) without them being able to access purchasing eGift cards?  I can't seem to disable that option.

@Skate4Life Can you explain a little more? So you want people to only come in and buy physical gift cards? What if you had someone out of state wanting to gift someone a gift card. How would you like to see that processed?

I had the same question, my customers don't care for eGift Cards and I wanted to offer the plastic Square gift cards on my Square website so they could be purchased online and sent to the customer. I contacted Square Support, and the answer I received today 11/30/23 was: "Square offer e-gift card for online gift cards sales. The plastic gift cards are for in person transactions."

This is really disappointing!

@loboyle so a work around for this would be having whoever wants a physical gift card call in and doing the sale over the phone, getting their shipping info and sending the physical card to them. 

another work around would be someone purchasing an e gift card, and when they come in to your business you can transfer the balance to a physical card. 

we have done that before for customers and it’s super easy.
