Apologies if this may be a bit naive but this is our first business and first time using Square. I am assuming the contracts that we can customize and send with the invoices and estimates are fully legally binding and able to be used in a court of law if someone breaches a signed contract between the business and client?
Dealing with a client who is refusing payment and it is escalating to the point of possibly having to pursue legal consequences for them. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
The services given have exceeded $3500-$4000 and they are refusing to compensate even though they signed the contract stating they would meet the requirements of the payment schedule.
Many Thanks!
Sorry to hear about your situation. Taken from the FAQ ,
"Square Contracts only provides sample templates for you to create your own contract. Square does not provide any legal advice, and we do not guarantee or advise that any contract is suitable for your purposes or enforceable in any jurisdiction. Square provides these templates to individuals choosing to prepare their own contractual documents for their private use. If you need legal advice as to the accuracy, sufficiency, or enforceability of specific contract terms, you should consult with a licensed attorney."
With that amount, I would definitely seek legal advice and see what can be done on your behalf.
