Leave a note on customers orders AFTER checkout

Hi, I desperately need a way to leave notes on already placed orders. For example, if a customer emails us saying they’re moving or misspelled their address, or if they forgot to specify at checkout “sans lavender”. Or, if they have packaging requests: no stickers, no marketing materials..or if my team members need to leave notes for each other when packing orders like where they left off...there are so many reasons why there is a huge need for us to be able to leave notes. It’s a shame to have to cancel customer orders (especially for products that are sold out) because of a typo or a request just because the system isn’t advanced enough to handle these sorts of things. It is a disaster trying to make note of this outside of the system and then have to cross reference it before shipping...and pray we didn’t make a mistake. Mistakes lead to unhappy customers (who we’ve already assured) and lost money. Anyone else out there have this need!?

Hello @Consciousspace and thanks for your post. I agree that making additional edits/notes on placed orders would be very helpful. I was unable to make any edits on my orders, so I think there is not a current workaround in Square. Maybe another seller would have an idea to achieve this.

 

The only idea I have is this...do you complete your shipping/mailing labels within your Square website/dashboard...or do you perhaps use an integration like Shippo with your Square website? I currently use Shippo as in integration, and ship "outside" of Square on the Shippo website. The integration populates Square orders automatically...BUT....here's the option, in Shippo I can edit the shipping address in addition to making a note on the packing slip. Maybe this could be a workaround solution for you?
