Items from my item catalog are randomly dropping off my website.

Items from my item catalog are randomly dropping off my website. The site visibility and sales channel are both marked on. In fact, I tried turning the site visibility and sales channel "off" so I could turn it back "on" but the page just reloads without the changes actually saved. I do not want to create a duplicate item to fix this problem because that messes up my loyalty program "free item". This happen regularly where items randomly drop off my website and I don't realize it unless a customer tells me, which could take a while. Unless I'm supposed to check every item on my website every day to make sure it's there!? Square, please fix this. Busy small business owners do not have time to deal with this and it hurts sales!

Ah- you've met the inventory gremlins.. I've been speaking about this for years. Not only does inventory drop off- it also comes back- we can "zero" an item out and mysteriously it shows back up again.

 

My best guess is there are instances in which square reverts back to the "last saved" set of data in their backup system and for some reason, whatever was done between then and now doesn't "hold"...

 

That's the only reason I can figure why this happens.

 

I've documented it. Sent it to the higher ups.. and now I just live with it.

I will tell you sometimes you have to clear your cache.  If you know how to do this go for it see if it works, if you don't call support on Monday and they will patiently walk you through it.  I need all the dumbing down I can get.
