Item Bundles and Kits for Online Store Shopping Cart

Hello, we have different flavors of scones and would like to figure out a consistent way to ship them by also allowing customers to choose the flavors in 6 or 12 pack bundles (streamlined quantities for our shipping boxes) and deduct them from the flavor inventory.

Below is a link to a website which is doing what we are hoping is possible with square.

Example Website:
https://www.raakachocolate.com/collections/gifts-bundles/products/12-bar-mixed-case-test

I have tried to look at square apps with this functionality but haven't found anything.. I have seen that Shopify has several apps that allow this type of shopping cart building.. I'd like to check here before building out and moving our shipping operations to Shopify.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

You’re welcome.  Unfortunately I’ve never used this particular area of apps, so I can’t give you solid recommendations.  It would take research into apps that help you build complex eCommerce platforms, and that would take time.  But ones that look promising, as I said, were BigCommerce, Wix, Ecwid, Drupal Commerce, Zen Cart, though there are even more.

I’d recommend making a new post in the Square for Retail Discussion board, explain about what you want to do, and asking for recommendations from or experiences of other retail sellers who have used their apps.

I am about at the end of my knowledge after pointing you here.  I wish you well, though.

Hi @ABGbake.  Just in case I missed something added recently, I went back and reviewed the Online Store setup.  It turned out that using just Square functionality you can not currently accomplish what you want.  Having said that, have you checked out the apps in the Square Third-Party App Marketplace?  Specifically, I’m thinking of an app called Woocommerce, though a quick search for “eCommerce” apps reveal a few other promising options.  These would have the benefit of keeping all of your inventory and sales tracking in one place while still gaining the functionality you desire.  Yes, these come with a fee (monthly or per transaction).  But so will Shopify as a standalone app, too, and you’d have to maintain two sets of inventory.

Give it a try.  I hope you find something that works and isn’t too painful!  And, of course you should if you want submit a feature request to Square here.

@TheRealChipA I will try this out! - I need to do a lot of research on how to get this to work. I did find Kit building / Bundle building under woocomerce apps. I just don't know much about it. I'll need to look deeper into how to set this up. From what I've read in reviews it takes a bit of know-how to connect the two without errors.

Which other apps could also work? I'd like to explore all of the options.

Thank you for your response! Have a great day.
