What do I do. My site just went live for a 8am sale and no one has access. How do I fix this issue?
@ptepottery For fastest service and resolution, call Square Support — (855) 700-6000
I’m assuming that by “site” you mean that your online store, but in any case it sounds like something you need the engineers to look into. I don’t see any pending issues with Square this morning, so it might be something account-related that needs resolving.
Good luck! I hope it is a quick resolution.
@ptepottery Update! I just saw a message that Square Online is having degraded service. Here’s a screen shot I just took. Still, it might be a good idea to call support and get your name on a list to be contacted when it resolves.
All of the things that business owners don't need to make money are operating fine. But the online websites are down; just great!
Trust me, I and all of your fellow Square sellers empathize with your frustration when something is down. Thankfully, for my business, online ordering is just a nice thing to have. If other things were down like payment processing or I was unable to sign into the POS, I’d be equally frustrated at the moment. Hopefully it gets resolved quickly.
For future reference, this web site is great to bookmark when something with Square is acting weird. You can at least find out whether or not Square is aware of the issue — https://www.issquareup.com/
Sorry to be the messenger of bad news, regardless.
It just happens too much for the amount of money we pay to have the online shop. I am an online only business so when the website is down so is my business. You never hear of shopify or or other web hosting sites going down as much as Square does.
Not to be a Square apologist, but actually if you do some web searches for Shopify’s, and others’, down-time history you will find ample evidence that they also have regular issues. Sometimes it is their fault. Sometimes it is their web server’s fault (AWS, for example, which has had very public down times lately!), and sometimes it is just the internet (50-year old technology) being 50-year old technology. You and I see Square’s downtime the most because we use Square. I have friends who use Shopify and others, and are constantly complaining about them being down all the time and wonder why they never hear a of Square downtime. Hint. It’s because they don’t use Square, so they don’t notice.
Like I said, I won’t say Square doesn’t have problems. They all do, and Square does too. But hyperbole doesn’t help the situation. I’m sorry that you were dead in the water today. I saw the problem was fixed about an hour after our first exchange, so I hope that you had a successful day after all.
Best,
Square Community
