Is it possible to unpublish a single page on my website?

[The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Unpublish a page]

I saw old posts about this but hoping it was updated.

Are we able to unpublish a page instead of delete? Things like holiday or donation campaigns that come back every year are a hassle to remove and recreate each time. It would be much easier if we can unpublish the page and just have it in the draft.

Thanks.

Hey @sashakanno.  Because of the way website hosting works, that is not possible.  Publishing a site is an all-or-nothing proposition at this time.

That being said, you have a couple of options to keep people from “finding” your pages.

  1. You could edit your page’s settings, go to the SEO tab, and toggle on “Hidden from search engine results.”  Then, just make sure that no other page of your website links to this page and, effectively, site visitors should not be able to see this.  Note that after you have made this change, it might take a while (days to weeks) for the search engines to note the change and make it effective.  That’s just how the internet works, unfortunately.
  2. As long as you aren’t using page password protection for anything else, you could just password protect the pages you don’t want site visitors to see.  You’d do that by editing your page’s settings, go to the General tab, and set the password protection to “Password protected.”  You’d also need to to to dashboard > Online > Website > Site Preferences and set up a site password for protected pages.

I hope that helps
