Can you be more specific as to what website you're referencing - that would quite helpful to the Community Members here. If the folks here have more details, hopefully you may get some thoughts.
Do you have a lot of photos on your site? If they are not compressed each photo could be 2mb or bigger even if they are taken on a smart phone. I use an image compressor that shrinks the size, but not the quality. I try to keep my photos 200kb or smaller.
