How to offer a free trial with a subscription and collect custom field information

Hi,

I have been testing, and i cannot collect custom field information on a checkout link, for a subscription whilst offering a free trial of any sort.

I am guessing that is because it does not count as a transaction so doesn't log it. Also strange to m that the field information collected that shows in the order manager, does not automatically get inputted into the customer information area.

Having a free trial is important for me promotion efforts and i NEED to collect a custom field for this, what is the best workaround please?

At this time this I considered a Feature Request. I will make sure to pass this over to our  Product team for their visibility and consideration.
