How to give "read-only" access for a particular payment link?

Hey all,

I'm new to the Square community and have a question about the payment link. I'm working with a 3rd party website developer. I'm creating a payment link (https://squareup.com/us/en/payment-links) for a hot americano I'm selling at my shop. I'm giving the payment link to a developer so that he can add the link to the website. 

The developer needs to be able to access the sales data (e.g. how many cups of americano were sold? what's the total sales volume?) for this particular payment link so that he can use the data to build additional features for me. 

I was wondering if there's a way to give "read-only" access to a particular payment link? I found that there's a "View Checkout Link Transactions" permission which will enable transactions permission to allow team members to view Online Checkout transactions. I wonder this is something I can use?

That option is something you can use, but unfortunately, the permission cannot be limited to one specific payment link. 

Does the developer need this data in real-time?

If not, exporting the data would probably be best.

Yes, the developer needs automated & real-time access to the data. At minimum, the solution needs to be automated as I can't possibly continuously export the data for his use case 😞 

I know I can give "read-only" permission for all of my data but that's not what I'm wanting to do. Could you help me think of any creative solutions I can try on my end?

I've been trying to figure out a way to make this work... However, I don't believe we have a way to allow selective access to Payment Links at this time. That being said this is considered a Feature Request. To appropriately send this to our product team we’d love it if you'd submit this request on our Ideate page for Square Reporting. Our team monitors these boards, and we triage them to measure needs. You can search the boards to see if this has been requested before and add your use case if so!
