How to best set up pick up locations (when they aren't actually your brick and mortars)

I own a bakery which runs out of a commissary kitchen. I was doing deliveries to folks' homes however as demand increased, I reached out to some of the other small businesses that I know (coffee shops etc) to ask if they would be willing to act as a pick up spot for my bread. I now have 5 different businesses willing to act as pick up locations for me. These businesses are being very generous as they are getting nothing out of it other than the customers might buy a coffee etc while they are there picking up my bread. What is the best way to set this up in square so that when customers click on an item, they can choose which of these pick up locations they would like?  Thank you so much!

Hello @doughbaby !

The best way to go about it is to create separate locations in Square for each of your pickup points.

Web Dashboard -> Account & Settings -> Business -> Locations

Set the address for each pickup location here. You'll get the option to import a current location item library when you do this, so you know all your products are available in every location.

Then, go to the online dashboard:

Fulfillment -> Pickup & Delivery

Each location you created in your web dashboard will be listed here now. Enable pickup as you need, set each location's hours, and configure any other setting you'd like.

When your customer goes to your online site, the first screen they see will be a list of locations you have available. They can then choose where they want to pick up their order.

A couple words of warning:

-The online dashboard does not allow you to specify what items are available in what location. If you have an item that is only available in one location, you'll need to go to your web dashboard's item library and set location availability there.

-Since you have your products being picked up at other businesses, if you use the name of the business as the location name there may be some confusion. I'd recommend having the location name be something like "Pickup at xxxx"

Congrats on your continued growth!

I need help.  I have a brick and mortar which offers online shopping and pick up at that location and another pick up location.  We also ship.   When I added both pick up locations the inventory system didn't work - have any of your worked around this.

I set up modifiers, so that customers could select which pick up location they wanted but the system still allows them to click shipping and of course, thats what happing a customer ordered and chose a pick up location and then shipping.  Which means I had to email to find out which she wanted and then refund her the shipping fees.

All fulfillment comes from the brick and mortar.

I've worked with my Square Rep and he even connected me to the engineer and he recommended the modifiers.  Any ideas or suggestion...I can add both pick up but how would I handle my inventory?  Why would square allow you to have more that one pick location but not have the inventory function for both.  Pick up is not the same a two stores.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give..  I'm new and desperate.
