The previous registered owner is no longer with the company. Because none of us who remain are the registered owner we cannot update the payment method or upgrade our account and republish our site.

This is probably one of the most challenging scenarios - about the only advice is to contact Customer Support to see what your options are. The volunteer Community Members are not the same as Tech or Customer Support - when it comes to Square's Apps and Hardware, there is quite a bit of experience but, issues such as this has to be resolved through Customer Support.
Where can I access their customer support?

I am not sure what to say because this type of senario would be alot of Red Flags as the Owner setup the bank account, and if you could just switch it easily that would mean anyone could switch someones account and payments to them.
The person who is no longer with the company who set all this up, are you still on speaking terms or anything?
I am still on speaking terms. I contacted him and he cant remember his old password and the email used to set it up no longer exists.
