I pulled this information from an article in our Support Center on "Adding Items and Categories to Square Online in the Overview Page"
Using the "physical" item type is best for basic retail items such as clothing or jewelry. You can learn more about selling physical items online here. The "other" option is something you can choose if the item doesn't fit into the available item types. You can also change an item’s type in Square Online at any time.
