Hi everyone,

I’m running an online store using Square Online and also manage product stock levels on an external site (see a general example here). I’d like to automatically sync inventory updates (e.g. quantity changes, new SKUs) from that external site to my Square Online catalog.

Here’s what I’m trying:

• Currently updating items manually in the Square Dashboard

• Exploring API or plugin-based automation options

What I’m hoping to learn:

1. Is there a built-in way (via Square integrations or Zapier) to automate inventory sync from external sites?

2. Should I build a custom connection using Square’s Catalog and Inventory APIs? If so, are there code samples or tutorials?

3. Any community-recommended tools (plugins, middleware) that handle this seamlessly?

Are you looking to sync with services like Shopify and Etsy? If so, I’d recommend a third party app such as trunkinventory.com. 

If you need to sync to a custom website, I don’t know of any off the shelf solutions.

I’ve only seen solutions for syncing inventory so far, haven’t found anything that syncs newly created items between sites yet, please let me know if you find anything.
