Hey
We're a cafe calles 'Spresso' with an online site. Customers that go to our website to order food are presented with a popup that asks for their location. See image below.
The only issue I have with this, is we have only 1 location so it's a bit of an annoyance being asked for your location.
We have previously had another location, but I have made it inactive. I feel like Square is still picking up the old location.
The pop up also mentions shipping as an option, so I have also deactivated any shipping fulfilment methods because we're a cafe and we don't ship.
Any help on how to get rid of this popup would be greatly appreciated.
the popup in question
Hi @spresso!
Thanks for reaching out with this question!
Just to clarify a few things — the online pickup/shipping pop-up is a default feature if you're using the "Online Order" site template, which it looks like you are. That said, the pop-up should only display the active fulfillment options. So if you've disabled shipping, that option shouldn't be appearing anymore.
You mentioned you've deactivated a previous location. Typically, Square will prompt you to disable any shipping methods linked to that location before allowing you to make it inactive. If you've already removed shipping as a fulfilment method from all items, I’d recommend double-checking by going into your Item Library, using the bulk actions tool to reassign the correct pickup fulfilment method to the relevant items, and saving those changes. Once that’s done, head to your Online Overview page and publish your site again to make sure all updates are applied.
If you're still seeing shipping as an option in the pop-up after that, let me know — I’ll get in touch with our Square Online team to take a closer look for you.

I can't deactivate a second location until I disable shipping but I don't know how to disable the shipping. Can someone please help.
Same here.
Me either. If you get an answer I’d love to know
it astounds me how complicated square makes things. Why does anyone need to be forced to pick shipping or pickup or any other option for a product or service? why are service items, a separate designation from physical goods? to the point where service items cant have multiple modifiers, or something that physical goods can have. (i already forget bc of how irritated i am).
Anyway, on topic. Apparently, you have to disable shipping under a separate screen, not under shipment. And since most people arent detailed enough to either leave a solution or they post a bunch of vague directions, I'll do the opposite.
Step 1: on a desktop Square page, look for the left-hand side landing menu bar. Click "Payments & Invoices"
Step 2: Select "Payment links", and when it drops down, click "Settings", and then click "General"
Step 3: On the "General" screen, under the "Fulfillment" section, there is "Enable shipping" and "enable pickup". Obviously, you need to toggle "enable shipping", which automatically means you have to toggle on "pickup" (my rant from earlier). You dont need to save, it autosaves.
Step 4: Go back to the main page, on the left-hand side menu bar, select "Settings".
Step 5: Select "Account & Settings" and it will drop down
Step 6: Select "Locations"
Step 7: Select the location you wish to remove, click "Edit Location" in top right corner, and click "Deactivate" again in the top right corner.
Step 8: A pop-up will show, reconfirm decision, and click "Deactivate this location".
Step 9: Done. Set off fireworks to celebrate doing something that should have taken 1 minute, but that was made more complicated for absolutely no reason.
