How Do I Edit Item Search Error Message?

We are a small bookstore that is able to order any title by request even if it is not available for order in our shop. I would like to edit the message that shows when a user searches for an item that is not included in our inventory. I used the title An Education as an example. Right now, this message shows up:

Can anyone point me in the right direction for where to edit this? I'd like for it to say something like "Sorry, no results were found for "an education." Please reach out to [email protected] so we can order it for you."

Is that possible?

Hi @stmarksbkstore, thank you for your post! At the moment, there isn't a way to edit the message copy for search results. I can definitely pass this suggestion to our Product team for consideration.

In there meantime, there are a few ways you can display this information to customer. You can:

  • Add a text element to your home page and let the customer knows how they can order books that are not included in your inventory. You can do this by going to Edit Site > Add Section and choose Text on your Square Online site.

  • You can also create an announcement pop to alert customers.

I hope these can help!
