I hope I’m overlooking something simple, but I cannot get our tablet to trigger notifications for new online orders. My staff is missing orders as a result. I’ve followed every troubleshooting step in the Square Help Center, but nothing has worked.
Does anyone have a working Square tablet setup that reliably triggers notifications? Also, for those using Uber Eats or other integrations with Square, are you receiving notifications for those orders as well?
We’ve spent weeks building the website (www.moaazgrill.com) so I would hate to take our three locations to some other platform as missing order means negative reviews.
This is usually caused by notification settings or device restrictions, not Square itself.
Check that notifications are enabled in the Square app and in the tablet’s system settings, disable battery optimization, and keep the app open in foreground or allowed in background. Also confirm the correct location and device are assigned for order alerts.
For Uber Eats or integrations, notifications often come through their own apps, not Square, unless routed via Square Online properly....If nothing works, reinstall the app and test with a live order, as some tablets block alerts by default.

Here is the response I got from Square tech team. I already have Allow new order notifications but no luck. Also, it's crazy that they are saying "The Square app doesn’t create loud, alert-type sounds for incoming orders". Am I the only one missing orders here due to not having this basis feature?

The Square app doesn’t create loud, alert-type sounds for incoming orders from Square Online; however, we can take note of any feedback and pass it along to our product team for you. Feel free to visit our to share your suggestion and let us know how it would benefit your business.
In the meantime, we do have in-app notification functionality that will alert you regarding new orders. These popup notifications have a shorter and softer sound. We also have an auto-print feature that you and your team members can use so you won’t have to manually accept the orders prior to getting the docket to print.
