Help...I created a beautiful site and then changed my items to services and now I can't get to site!

Thank you anyone who can help me!

I created a beautiful site for my online pilates business. At the time I couldn't figure out how to get the classes I am offering to show up as services so I created them as Items which worked beautifully.

This morning I figured out how to add them as services; however because I am not enabling booking they aren't playing well together.

So I re-added the classes back as items but I can't access my Online store to add the items back...instead I get a message from Weebly (?) "You have no activated online booking locations. In a moment, you will be redirected to Appointment settings to enable online booking for a location and try again."

Although that's true, I don't want to book online and I just want to go back to the online store that I created. It still exists because I can follow my 'customer-link' to get there but I can't figure out how I can access it to make changes.

Thanks for any help anyone!

Hey there 👋

This sounds like one of those “I fixed one thing and broke another” kind of mornings (been there more times than I’d like to admit 😅). What’s happening is Square is trying to be “helpful” by pushing you into Appointments since you added your classes as services—but because you don’t actually want booking turned on, it’s creating a loop.

A couple of things you can try:

  1. Switch your site back to Online (Weebly) view

    • Go into your Square Dashboard > Online (sometimes it shows up as “Square Online”).

    • From there, you should see your old Weebly-built site and be able to edit your items again.

  2. Clear out the service option

    • Head to Appointments > Settings > Services and remove the classes you created as services.

    • Once those are gone, the system should stop trying to force you into booking.

  3. Items vs. Services (quick tip)

    • If you’re not using online booking at all, stick with “Items.” That way they behave like regular products/classes you can sell in your store.

    • “Services” only really shine when you’re letting people pick a time on your calendar.

Worst case, if it’s still redirecting you, clear your browser cache or open your dashboard in an incognito window—sometimes Square gets a little clingy with old settings.

You’re definitely not alone in this one—it’s a common tripwire when you dabble in both Services + Items. The good news: once you set it back to Items, your beautiful Pilates site should behave the way you want again 💪

Wow! You really know your stuff here! Thank you so much for reaching out. I'm embarrassed to say that it was a cache issue and I wish I had just tried that first!!!! Thanks again for helping me out. 😊
