Help I am ready to give up on square

I have a huge problem with my website that I cannot fix- numerous deleted items showing on my website. 
I have followed all of the suggestions that I have found on this forum and none of them work. 
I am so frustrated that I am feeling it would be easier to close down my square pos and the website.

@Lnuez First, can you give me a few deleted items that are showing up, still?

 

Second, while I appreciate that you have "followed all of the suggestions that I have found on this forum and none of them work" that is not enough to go on.  PLEASE be specific about what you have tried, so that I can mark those off of my list and see if I have any other suggestions in my toolbox that have worked for other sellers.  That way you won't be frustrated by me throwing out things you've tried (but didn't list) and I won't be frustrated trying to guess what you might have tried already.

 

Thanks for anything you can do to actually help me help you efficiently.

 I have tried to do all the above. I will admit to not being a web guru. My website is  WoodcraftAndMosaic.square.site if you look at my site there are around 30 items that should not be there. For example the first two images were deleted long ago. Screen shot below

Any image that isn’t on a white and gray marbled background is not currently in my inventory.

@Lnuez Thanks for all of that detail.  If you did everything that @rtfulk mentioned in that helpful post, I'll move on to more drastic measures.  I'm assuming that you tried those things long enough ago that delayed catalog syncing isn't an issue.  So.....

 

First, have you checked your item catalog for archived (not deleted) items?  While those should NOT show up on websites, if you don't need archived items any longer, I would recommend deleting them for good measure.

 

Otherwise, I'd recommend the "nuclear option."  Go to Online> Websites > Website Settings > Site Preferences.  Scroll down to the bottom and click the "Unpublish" button, then follow the instructions.  After that edit your site and publish it again.  This will have the effect of clearing out any possible "ghosts" in our website.  After you do that, go back to your site and see if the items are still there, or not, and let me know.

The images don’t show in the item library- how can I check the archive? I wasn’t able to find that. I am away from my computer but using my phone.

Well, there used to be a filter to view archived items, but it seems to be missing right now.  So, let's assume that you didn't archive anything since you would have had to go out of your way to do that.  Skip to the nuclear option and let me know the results.

Follow up...the option to view archived items -- and to edit items in general -- is ONLY on the desktop browsers.  You can't do that on mobile.

Tried the nuclear option- no change. Images/items only show when editing. Cannot locate the images anywhere. 

I deactivated my site a year ago and recently reactivated- do you think that might be the issue?

@Lnuez You said the first 2 items were deleted and still showing online. The click pen with stylus is that one of them?  If so this is just a thought. I went to your site and saw all the varieties are sold out except 1 Ironwood. My thinking is this. The Ironwood pen may still be listed in your items. I would go to your items and do a search for Ironwood  and see if it pops up, if so delete that and see if it removes the items. 

 

I'm not saying this is the problem or will fix it, but it would be something I would look into and if it fixes that one I would look at the others. If the page was deleted and Square still held the page in cache it should produce a 404 error page not found when it is clicked on.

 

If that doesn't work we will keep looking to figure out something else.

Ironwood doesn’t show up. 

I did have this site deleted a year ago and recently signed up again. Do you think that could be it?

That could be a problem if you left old inventory on the online site when you closed it down. One thing to try is this:

Go to Square Online → Edit Site → Shop Page
Click the shop section.

If it says:
Display: All items

Change to:
Selected categories only

Old sites often default back to “All items.”

 

If that doesn't work you could contact support and ask them to re-index your site, that should clear up any stay items still showing up.

Hi @Lnuez you say that you just recently resigned up again for Square online.  Have you been using square to process payments in the meantime (since you closed it) or have you been using another service?  I would say all of the items on the website are there because they have been pulled from your Square items list, and also because that was how the site was when it was shut down?  You may have to go into each item that you don't want to sell on your website or is out of stock and check to see "Where it is Sold"  To do this from the dashboard go to Items and Services, then item library then choose one of the items that shouldn't be on your website and scroll down until you find "Where is it Sold" Your online website should show here as the second option.  If you unclick the button it should remove it from your website.  Be aware it can take up to 5 mins for your website to update. 

Remember you will have to do this from a computer.

I have only been using square for sales, even when the website was deactivated. The only place I can find the images is on my the website- not in image gallery. I will be reaching out to support today.

Thanks for asking, I called support and after going through all the same steps y’all gave they did a manual sync. Problem solved instantly!
